Evanilson’s brace over West Ham United on Saturday has activated a clause in his transfer deal from Porto in which Bournemouth must pay the Portuguese club an additional €2.5 million.

That’s according to the publication O Jogo, which has reported that the overall transfer has reached €39.7 million, while it could could rise still further.

The Cherries mathematically guaranteed their Premier League survival yesterday in their draw with the Hammers, and this marks another one of the conditions in Evanilson’s transfer deal.

Back in December, the deal had already earned Porto €200,000 in bonuses when he completed his first block of 15 matches with more than 45 minutes played. There are six games left for him to complete another block of 15 matches with at least 45 minutes played.

The striker joined last summer for a fixed fee of €37 million, plus €10 million in performance-related bonuses. Of these, is €2.5 million is paid to Porto each time Bournemouth avoids relegation.

There is also €200,000 sent to the club for each block of 15 matches with over 45 minutes played and €100,000 for each senior international appearance by Evanilson where he plays more than 45 minutes.

Additionally, €2 million will be sent to Porto if Bournemouth qualifies for the Europa League, provided Evanilson plays at least 45 minutes in at least half of those games. In total, the bonuses could reach €11.5 million on top of the initial fee.
