Michel Adopo spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta and his performances have attracted the attention of Bournemouth.

The Frenchman played 35 Serie A games, scoring once and assisting twice, and became a constant presence in central midfield, helping the Sardinian side swerve relegation.

Corriere dello Sport believe Bournemouth have taken steps forward to sign the 24-year-old, who managed to play only 11 times in all competitions for Atalanta.

Cagliari have an option to buy Adopo permanently and will soon sign him for a fee of €4m. They will then look to sell him on for a profit.

It can be presumed Bournemouth will have to shell out more than €4m to land the former Torino talent.

Cagliari’s three key players are Adopo, Elia Caprile and Roberto Piccoli and they would be interested in parting ways with all three, if the right price is offered.

That will encourage the Cherries and a move for Adopo would make sense, considering how he offers pace and power while going forward into attack from deeper midfield areas.
