Bournemouth have ‘already sounded out’ Real Valladolid’s Gonzalo Plata about a move this summer, with their interest known for weeks.
That’s according to journalist Nacho Sanchis, who says Bournemouth ‘would be willing’ to sign the player this summer and have already made the first moves.
Gary O’Neill’s side will be keen to strengthen their squad this summer after an impressive first season back in the Premier League that saw them avoid relegation with time to spare.
They will be backed by their American owners to do so, with them already spending big in January to bolster their options and aid the aforementioned fight against relegation.
And Plata may be one of the players on their list of targets, with Sanchis reporting that they’ve already been in touch about a possible transfer.
“Bournemouth is the club that has already sounded him out with a view to signing him this summer,” Pucela Fichajes report him saying.
“Bournemouth’s interest has been there for weeks, although with the campaign already concluded, a meeting is scheduled for the next few days to define what could be Real Valladolid’s first transfer this season.”
He adds that Plata ‘would be happy’ to join Bournemouth this summer and has been aware of their interest for some time but didn’t want to discuss a transfer until the end of the season.
That point is now here, and Bournemouth have made their first move, with Valladolid set to discuss a deal in the coming days.
