On June 4th, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported United’s Diego Llorente has impressed Daniele De Rossi during his loan spell at AS Roma, and they will make an attempt to retain him to please their manager.
Two days later, Il Tempo stated the 30-year-old is putting pressure on his camp to help him return to the Serie A side. He spent the last 18 months on loan with the Italian club, and likes it there.
Last week, the same outlet reported Roma are negotiating with Leeds to buy the centre-back.
Corriere dello Sport now states the Giallorossi have put Llorente’s redemption on hold as they are evaluating their centre-back options for the new season.
The Leeds player’s desire to return to Roma has suffered a massive blow because of a De Rossi decision, according to Il Messaggero, relayed by Tutto AS Roma.
Earlier claims insisted the manager is keen to have Llorente at his disposal next season. That is no longer the case, according to today’s claims.
Therefore, Llorente has to return to Elland Road, where he has a contract until 2026. The Whites and Daniel Farke will have to make a decision on his future this summer.
Of course, the Italian slant on De Rossi can change again.
