Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs to be credited with an interest in Corinthians’ Yuri Alberto.

On November 21st, Trivela reported the Reds, Southampton and West Ham are after the 23-year-old. On Thursday, Bolavip in Brazil explained the striker will receive an offer from Nottingham Forest to leave Corinthians in the winter market.

It was also stated Nuno Espírito Santo’s side will propose €23m, likely excluding bonuses, which is enough to open negotiations with the Brazilian club. Nottingham Forest and other clubs who have shown interest in him has suffered a blow in their transfer pursuit.

Corinthians president Augusto Melo has given an interview to TNT Sports in Brazil and ruled out Alberto’s sale in January. His comments are relayed by UOL.

According to Melo, the Brazil international is happy at the club, and they are determined to keep him.

“He’s not going to leave. He’s very happy here. We started the year with many base players, we had no squad and no credibility in the market to sign players. Today, thank God, everyone wants to come to Corinthians. We aren’t going to get rid of anyone and the idea is to maintain this squad,” he said.

Alberto has publicly talked about his desire to move to Europe and the dream of playing in the Premier League. Melo’s latest comments may not please the player.
