Everton are reportedly only waiting for a response to their offer for Manolo Gabbiadini from Napoli. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Toffees have bid €25m for the striker, and offered him a salary of €3.5m per year at the Goodison Park.

That salary is likely to be after tax, as is usually the way it’s quoted in the Italian media.

The story says Gabbiadini is meeting the sport director Cristiano Giuntoli, then he’ll talk to his agent, who will give an answer to the offer. If the player accepts, then Napoli will open negotiations to sign Simone Zaza from Juventus as a replacement.

Gazzetta doesn’t mention Napoli’s opinion on Gabbiadini’s departure, as if the €25m bid was good enough for them to sell.

Everton’s offer started being commented on Saturday morning, and despite some outlets saying it was turned down by Napoli, Gazzetta makes it clear that it’s still on the table.
