Emiliano Martinez will play for Aston Villa this evening despite suffering a hairline fracture in his hand last weekend.
That’s according to journalist Gastón Edul, who says the Aston Villa goalkeeper is ready for the clash with Brentford.
Martinez had been expected to miss a period of games after suffering an injury in the defeat to Chelsea.
Edul was the first to report on the problem, revealing that Martinez had suffered a small fracture in a finger and could be set for a spell on the sidelines after leaving the defeat to Chelsea at half time.
He now reports that Martinez will be playing today despite his injury, although there is no indication of how this will be achieved.
Either way, it seems Martinez’s injury was not as bad as initially some may have thought, although TyC and Edul had indicated initially with their reporting in Argentina that the goalkeeper’s recovery would be rapid.
That can certainly said to be the case as he’s set to continue in goal for Aston Villa on Wednesday as Unai Emery’s side look to get back on track after a difficult run of results.
