Villarreal ‘don’t rule out’ bringing Everton’s Arnaut Danjuma back to the club in the winter market, according to Cadena Ser.
The La Liga side let the forward join the Toffees on a loan deal in the last window and this move hasn’t gone well so far for him. He’s made 12 appearances in all competitions, but that includes only three league starts.
To put it in perspective, Everton manager Sean Dyche has handed him 27 minutes of action in the last 10 league games.
Villarreal’s Yéremi Pino has been on the sidelines with a serious injury and Ben Brereton Díaz could be allowed to leave next month. This could see the Yellow Submarine look for solutions and they don’t rule out the possibility of bringing Danjuma back to the club.
After the Netherlands international’s struggles at Tottenham Hotspur [last season] and now at Everton, it could be best for the Spanish club to take him back. This may also help the player improve his valuation, with a view for a sale next summer.
The report states it’s ‘perhaps the best thing’ for the Dutchman and Villarreal to consider terminating his loan stay at Everton.
It’s claimed the Everton man’s entourage are also ‘seriously’ discussing the possibility of him returning to Villarreal.
Cadena Ser make no mention of the Merseyside club’s stance on letting him leave in January, but if he’s rarely being used, he might not be overly missed.
