Wednesday night’s result against West Ham turned out to be quite a disappointment for Arsenal, who are in danger of slipping away from where they need to be.

The 0-0 draw at the Olympic Stadium left the Gunners in seventh place, dropping two positions from the last fixture, with Arsene Wenger now at risk of missing Champions League qualification for the second season in a row.

With many players upset with the result, it was Hector Bellerin who spoke to the Brazilian press after the game. In an interview with reporter Natali Gedra from ESPN Brasil, the Spaniard claimed the team must improve their attacking skills to have attractive football again.

“It’s difficult because we are dominating the games, we have opportunities, we have the ball possession. But we don’t have the effectiveness in front of the goal, we lack a little creativity,” Bellerin told ESPN Brasil.

“And that’s what makes our game something that people like to see, football with a lot of spectacle, with a lot of first touch, with a lot of speed. I don’t know, we lack this, especially in the last quarter of the pitch.”

“Defensively we are good at the back, we are conceding few goals, but we need to improve at the front. We have to keep working and play the next match with a little more audacity.”

Arsenal will now face Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. With Burnley, Liverpool and Tottenham all playing away games this weekend, maybe it’s a good chance to gain an advantage.
