Italian outlet MilanNews24 today shares a small update on AC Milan’s chase for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

The website claims that even though the player was offered to the Rossoneri, they’re still to decide whether they’ll pay the ‘high price’ demanded by Spurs.

Appearing on Sportitalia, journalist Gianluigi Longari claims there’s actually a bigger chance for this move when Tottenham make some signings.

“If Spurs were to complete some incoming signings, the discussion with Milan could be reinstated, after all his qualities are not to be questioned.”

Højbjerg’s move to Italy has been a heavy rumour for a few months, but with Serie A clubs never willing to pay the amount requested by Premier League sides, this saga has been dragged out a little.

Some other clubs such as Atlético Madrid and Fenerbahce have been linked to the midfielder as well, but none of them seem to have engaged in serious talks with Spurs for the transfer so far.

Højbjerg has a contract with Tottenham running until next summer, and with his will to leave, Spurs know they better sell him now instead of running the risk of losing him for free very soon. Now maybe their request will change during the window.
