Defender Marcos Senesi ‘is taking off’ at Bournemouth and could have earned himself a place in Argentina’s squad for the World Cup as a result.

That’s according to the Argentina edition of AS, who cover the player today after he was named Bournemouth’s player of the month for October.

The 25-year-old centre-back joined Bournemouth in a €15m deal in the summer and, after a slow start, has ‘fully established’ himself in the heart of their defence over the last seven games.

He’s now among the ‘most prominent’ players in the team, dominating the statistics and earning himself the player of the month award for October.

That is a ‘distinction’ that ‘gives recognition’ to his performances but also highlights how he has ‘been growing’ throughout the early months of the campaign at Bournemouth.

He arrived at the club without a place but has established himself to become an important player, something which hasn’t gone unnoticed ahead of the World Cup.

The stats make him one of Bournemouth’s ‘defensive leaders’, with him one of the highest tacklers per game, as well as good numbers for interceptions and clearances. He is also showing a ‘cleanliness’ to his game as he is yet to be carded.

The numbers confirm the ‘success’ of the transfer and, despite recent results, ‘give reason’ to believe that he will be in Argentina’s squad in Qatar.
