It is ‘only a matter of time’ before Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech completes a move to AC Milan.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who says the players high wages are a problem for the Italian side.
Ziyech has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer after another frustrating season in which he failed to convince Thomas Tuchel.
While a regular under the German, the Morocco international did not establish himself as first-choice and Chelsea’s efforts to sign Raphinha suggest that will not change next season.
Ziyech has subsequently been linked with a move away from Chelsea, with AC Milan reportedly working on a deal to take him to Serie A.
The Italian champions are looking to build on their title-winning success last season, and Ziyech would fit the mould of more experienced players they’ve been targeting.
“Ziyech wants to leave Chelsea. I think Chelsea want to sell Ziyech,” he told Wettfreunde.
“I think it’s only a matter of time. He has already said ‘OK’ to Milan’s solution, but they need to make an agreement with Chelsea; the right way, maybe a loan with an option to buy, maybe a buy deal.
“The problem is his high salary: €6m net. That is very, very high for Italian football.
“Milan are working on two offers, Ziyech and [Charles] De Ketelaere. They could get both of them if they sell someone in those positions. There is a good relationship between Chelsea and Milan.”
