AC Milan are interested in Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, according to claims from the Italian media.
Outlet MilanWeb today writes that the Rossoneri are getting ready to say goodbye to Simon Kjaer, whose contract expires at the end of the season and he’s not expected to have an offer for a renewal.
Looking for a replacement, the Serie A giants are said to be watching Lindelof, whose situation at Manchester United makes him suitable for a summer change.
The first argument is that the Sweden international hasn’t been playing much, as he’s a back-up choice for the times when Raphael Varane or Lisandro Martinez are injured.
Then there’s the fact that Lindelof’s contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season, even though the Red Devils have an option to extend it for a further year.
Milan’s initial idea would be to sign him as a free agent. In case Erik ten Hag’s side do trigger the clause, then the Rossoneri would offer €15m, which ‘would convince’ the Premier League club to sell.
