Maxence Lacroix’’s future at Wolfsburg continues to be uncertain and while he could feature for the club in their DFB Pokal game later today, Crystal Palace continue to prowl for the centre-back.
German outlet WAZ have reported that even though Wolfsburg boss Ralph Hassenhuttl insisted recently that Lacroix is ‘staying’ at the club, his future is actually still very much up in the air.
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner still wants Lacroix and the Eagles are now stepping up their move for the Frenchman. The outlet state that Wolfsburg haven’t received any offer for Lacroix but it could come soon.
The German side want €25m to sell 24-year-old and there is a feeling that Palace will make an offer for the player.
The report also mentions that while Wolfsburg ideally want €25m, they will find an offer over €20m ‘difficult to refuse’ as they would make a significant profit from the sale.
The reason given for no offer arriving yet is Crystal Palace waiting for the sale of Marc Guehi, who could join Newcastle United. Funds from that move can be used to sign Lacroix.
Whether they’ll go for him if Guehi stays isn’t clear.
