Manchester United are yet to bring in the additional midfielder they require for the current season, despite months of links with Sofyan Amrabat and other options around Europe.
According to the Italian media, there hasn’t even been a formal offer from the Premier League club, and other clubs, such as Napoli, have started to be linked to the Fiorentina player in recent days.
One issue for Erik ten Hag’s side has been getting players out of the club and giving the financial room required to bring others in.
German newspaper Bild reports the Bundesliga champions are interested in Scott McTominay, and there’s the possibility of a way deal with Ryan Gravenberch.
Bild believe the deal could be carried out via a loan swap, with the two players swapping clubs for the current campaign. Whether that would be a formula interesting to Manchester United isn’t clear, but they have been linked with Gravenberch repeatedly recently.
