Monday’s regional Liguria edition of Gazzetta dello Sport takes a look at some business Genoa are trying to get over the line at the start of the summer transfer window.
One deal they feel can be completed relatively quickly is getting Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent basis.
The 23-year-old was at Genoa on loan for the second half of last season, moving as part of the deal which took Radu Dragusin to Spurs.
He played 16 matches for them, totalling around 850 minutes, and despite not being able to contribute any goals or assists, they want him to remain permanently.
There had been an option to buy, but Gazzetta suggest the deal isn’t being done via that clause. Instead, the Serie A side would have a deal on ‘a basis of around €7-8m’.
Now they’re waiting for the player’s agreement, and once Spence provides that then the deal can be made official. It must be said there seems an assumption in the report that this one will be done in the near future.
