Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Isco, and La Razon now cover claims from Spanish radio to say the Gunners have made contact about signing him.

Isco’s contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer, by which time he’ll be 30-years-of-age, and it’s unlikely he’s going to be handed a renewal.

Carlo Ancelotti has given the player 177 minutes in La Liga so far this season, spread over seven appearances, and the manager hasn’t fielded Isco once in the Champions League. Indeed, he’s only had 11 minutes of action since September, with him being brought on when Madrid were already 4-1 up against Granada.

La Razon say Madrid haven’t been happy with Isco’s behaviour, he’s got an ‘attitude problem’ and has shown irritation during matches and also in training.

Given all of that, they won’t object to a winter move.

Arsenal may well have looked at Isco, yet it’s unlikely they’d want to hand him a big contract given his situation. Sevilla have also been linked, and that looks a likelier move, although they’d surely also be concerned about financially committing too much to the Spaniard.

Despite all the trophies he’s picked up along the way, Isco’s career hasn’t really gone the way many hoped it would.
