For the past few months, we’ve been covering all the Brazilian controversy in which Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor has been involved in.
Constantly making accusations of match fixing, the Botafogo owner is still to prove there’s actually any corruption in the local league.
Now as Metropoles shares a new story on this case, they bring some news which could actually affect Textor’s work at Crystal Palace.
The outlet reports there’ll be a trial next week which could result in a one-year suspension, plus a fine. And the STJD, which is the sports court in Brazil, is considering asking FIFA for that verdict to be extended internationally.
That means Textor would also be stopped from working at Lyon, Molenbeek and Crystal Palace in that period.
This current process is regarding accusations made by Textor last year, when he showed no evidence to back up what he said. Therefore legal action was taken to try and force him to hand over evidence, which has happened yet.
He did it again this year, this time naming clubs who allegedly took part in match fixing, but that will be a whole new process, especially because he claims to have handed the police some proof this time.
