On Monday morning, we covered a story from Catalan outlet Sport which analysed the situation of Barcelona loanees. There it was said that Tottenham Hotspur are currently ‘advancing’ in negotiations to buy Clement Lenglet for around €14m.
It turns out that the same website later published a story to specifically speak about the 27-year-old, and they end up showing they’re actually sorry for him.
With a headline saying Lenglet is ‘trapped’ at Tottenham, Sport writes that he’s in a team ‘that is falling apart’.
The outlet claims that the atmosphere at Tottenham is ‘very toxic’, with Antonio Conte’s ‘hasty’ departure harming the dressing room.
Despite all those words, Sport still writes that Spurs are likely to move on with Lenglet’s purchase.
They claim that even though the loan doesn’t include a buying option, the clubs are indeed ‘advancing’ for the permanent deal.
It’s said they just need to wait and see how serious is the injury picked by the defender during the match against Bournemouth, but that isn’t expected to be a major issue, and the London side should carry on with the operation.
