Aston Villa youngster Rory Wilson is drawing interest from European clubs, according to claims today.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri writes on Twitter that Inter Milan and RB Leipzig have both been watching the 18-year-old.
A supposed advantage those clubs would have is the fact that Wilson’s contract with Aston Villa expires next year.
However, it’s said that Unai Emery’s side are already working to keep the youngster, making their desire to keep him clear by offering a new five-year contract.
Wilson joined Aston Villa in 2022, when he signed from Rangers’ academy. He’s been playing for the Villan’s youth ranks, and wasn’t given the chance to make his first team debut yet.
Perhaps taking him to a Premier League match day squad would be a good way for the club to convince him to stay, and show him there’s a route to the team.
Wilson has also played for Scotland’s U-17, U-19 and U-21 sides, where he may have drawn Inter Milan’s and RB Leipzig’s interest as well.
Unai Emery’s side now need to convince the youngster to ignore interest from elsewhere.
