Aston Villa’s Jhon Jáder Durán needs to ignore any critics and keep acting in the “authentic” way he has up to now.
That’s according to former Colombian international Chicho Serna, via AS Colombia, who believes the Aston Villa man is perfect as he is.
Durán has enjoyed a flying start to the season, with eight goals in 17 appearances in all competitions so far despite only playing 605 minutes in total.
He’s enjoyed big moments, with a winner against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and a superb solo strike against Everton the highlights so far.
There has also been low points, though, with a very negative reaction to being substituted in the 2-0 win over Bologna, a game he scored in, going viral.
The Aston Villa striker was seen kicking chairs and storming off down the tunnel after being subbed off in the game by Unai Emery before later returning to celebrate with his teammates.
That led to plenty of criticism with some in his native Colombia, such as Tino Asprilla, urging the 20-year-old to change his attitude lest it end up ruining his career. Serna, though, has a different opinion on the matter.
“It seems great to me because that is his essence and he cannot lose it,” he told Caracol Radio’s Vbar.
“People must understand that we should not have a tape to always give the same answers. He is a young player who is already succeeding in England and the best clubs in the world want him, and if he is authentic, even better.”
