The River Plate star is still on the radar of Dean Smith’s side as Calciomercato now state Villa are one of the clubs chasing the player.
AC Milan have long been interested in the 21-year-old and the website focuses on the Serie A side’s plans for the player.
The Argentina international’s current deal expires in December 2022 and that includes a €25m release clause.
Due to the duration left on his contract, there’s a possibility Milan or any other suitor could get a discount for a potential transfer.
Milan are not the only club looking at the attacker, and this is when the Premier League side are mentioned. Calciomercato state Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Villa and Sevilla are all Milan’s ‘rivals’ in the chase for Álvarez.
Whether Dean Smith’s side can get ahead of Milan and other sides in the coming months, to sign Álvarez, remains to be seen.
