Aston Villa have started looking on the market for attacking options with Jhon Durán on the verge of moving to Saudi Arabia, and that has led them to looking at Marco Asensio once again.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that Durán’s move to Al-Nassr has now been finalised, with Aston Villa set to secure a €70m price tag.
Monchi and his transfer team are now activating their networks to bring in one or two attacking players before the end of the window and the Villans have discussed Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel.
Competition for him is proving to be too strong as Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich over a €60m deal.
That’s led them to look elsewhere, and they are still in contact Paris Saint Germain’s Marco Asensio. According to L’Equipe they have ‘never stopped talking’ to the Spaniard and his entourage and the option of a move to the Premier League is still on the table for the former Real Madrid man.
PSG are not completely against the idea of a departure for Asensio in this window, so long as he leaves on a permanent transfer.
Whether Aston Villa are willing to offer it remains to be seen but they are in contact and have been keen on him all month.
