Italian giants AC Milan have been trying to sign Valencia’s Javi Guerra this week and they are now reportedly facing competition from Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old midfielder impressed for the Spanish club in the 2024/25 season, playing 36 La Liga games, scoring three times and adding three assists.
Calciomercato have looked at his situation and they claim that while Milan have readied their first move for Spain U21s’ star, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid have also come forward with their ‘initial approaches’.
They report that while the Rossoneri have had positive contact with the talent’s entourage, Valencia will not be convinced by their upcoming offer of about €20m.
Even though Guerra is currently said to prefer Milan over others, it still won’t be easy. They had planned on using money from the sale of Yunus Musah to sign Guerra, but the US international’s move to Napoli is stalling and may fall through.
This would give hope to both Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid, with Unai Emery having shown an inclination towards signing Spanish players during his time at Villa Park.
