Aston Villa have seen a €30m (£26m) approach for Palmeiras forward Allan rejected. The Brazilian club made it clear they have no intention of selling the 22-year-old this summer.
Brazil’s Globo Esporte reports the Premier League side made contact with Palmeiras over a package worth €30m (£26m). This was made up of €25m (£21.7m) as a fixed fee and a further €5m (£4.3m) in guaranteed bonuses. In addition, the proposal also included a five-year contract with the option of a sixth season for the player.
Despite the size of the offer, Palmeiras quickly shut the door. According to the report, football director Anderson Barros informed Allan’s agent, Paulo Pitombeira, that the Brazilian club are not willing to negotiate.
Both the board and coaching staff see the winger as an important part of their plans for the remainder of 2026. Moreover, they believe there is still room for his value to increase.
Palmeiras make their position clear
Allan has become one of the players Palmeiras are determined to keep as they chase silverware on multiple fronts.
That stance explains why Aston Villa’s opening proposal failed to make any progress. This was despite reaching a figure that would usually attract attention in South America.
Whether Unai Emery’s side return with an improved offer remains to be seen, but Globo Esporte indicate Palmeiras’ position is based less on price and more on sporting ambition.
Until now, Liverpool and Newcastle had been the Premier League clubs most consistently linked with Allan. Reports from Brazil regularly placed both among his admirers.
Aston Villa’s emergence therefore comes as something of a surprise. This is particularly true as they’ve gone beyond mere interest and tested Palmeiras with a substantial opening offer.
Allan remains central to plans
The 22-year-old broke into Palmeiras’ first team last season and established himself as a regular starter.
He has contributed six goals and four assists in 34 appearances across all competitions in 2026, numbers that have strengthened Palmeiras’ belief he can play an even bigger role over the coming months.
For now, Aston Villa have received a firm rejection, with Palmeiras signalling that convincing them to change their minds will require far more than the opening €30m (£26m) proposal.
