Unai Emery registered his first win as the Aston Villa manager when he guided the Villans to a 3-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
The Premier League side appointed the Spaniard as Steven Gerrard’s successor on October 24th. They brought him to Villa Park by paying €6m to Villarreal.
A week later, Mundo Deportivo reported that Emery has instructed Aston Villa to raid his former club to sign Nicolas Jackson in January.
The 21-year-old was promoted to the La Liga side’s first team when the former Arsenal manager was in charge of the club.
Jackson’s deal runs down in 2026 and is attracting interest from other clubs. That’s per Fichajes.net, who state the Yellow Submarine are already working to extend his contract.
If Villarreal fail to meet the forward’s demands, he could have several options to change clubs. One possibility could be moving to Aston Villa.
It’s said Emery’s arrival at Villa Park is the ‘great trigger’ for the English club to sign the player in the winter market. In order to secure his services, Aston Villa ‘intend to make a formal offer’ after the World Cup.
Jackson, meanwhile, is open to making a switch to the Premier League since the idea of reuniting with Emery ‘seduces’ him.
