On Tuesday, Corriere Fiorentino reported Aston Villa are providing firm competition to Fiorentina in the race for Cyril Ngonge. It was also said Hellas Verona are expecting a bid from the Premier League side at some point this month.
Unai Emery’s side seem to have taken further steps as TuttoMercatoWeb state they have tabled a €10m offer for the forward.
Hellas Verona signed the 23-year-old on a free transfer last summer and Aston Villa’s proposal would allow them to make a capital gain from his sale.
Therefore, the report says the Serie A side have ‘reached an agreement’ with Aston Villa, after verbally accepting their €10m proposal.
This season, Ngonge has managed five goals and two assists from 19 matches, operating as a right winger, No.9 and a second striker.
TMW state the versatile attacker’s intention is to continue in Italy, where he would favour a move to Fiorentina.
With the Villans already reaching an agreement with Hellas Verona, they must convince Ngonge to change his stance.
Firenze Viola also mention Aston Villa’s agreement with Hellas Verona and add the club will be ‘forced to sell’ Ngonge, given their need to make cash in the winter market.
