Aston Villa are not stopping their efforts to improve their forward line with Moussa Diaby and are also targeting Jeremie Doku.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say Unai Emery and Monchi are ‘working on multiple reinforcements’ and Doku is one of them.
They explain that the pair want to completely revolutionise Aston Villa’s forward line this summer and ‘flesh out’ the attack ahead of an attempt to push further up the Premier League and compete in Europe.
Alongside targeting moves for Diaby and Thiago Almada they also like Jeremie Doku, who is ‘another objective’ for Monchi in particular.
The Villans have already seen a €25m bid rejected by his club Rennes but Aston Villa are ‘expected to raise their offer’ to €30m in an attempt to get him.
How that will be received by the French side isn’t mentioned but TMW are insistent that they’re pushing to secure his signature this summer.
That seems a little strange given the €50m seemingly being shelled out on Diaby and the potential €20m deal for Almada.
That would leave a lot of players competing for limited spaces given there is already Leon Bailey, Philippe Coutinho, Emiliano Buendía and Bertrand Traore competing for places on the left and right wing.
The obvious answer is that Aston Villa might soon be looking to secure sales to help reduce the squad and balance the books but for now their focus appears to be on incomings and Doku is one Monchi wants in particular.
