Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie is back being linked to Aston Villa.
That’s done by the Catalan media, with outlet Sport naming Unai Emery’s side as one of the contenders to sign the 26-year-old.
It all started with a rumour on Monday which said Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Kessie as well.
And when covering that story, Sport made sure to mention Aston Villa are the ‘second’ Premier League side who’d like to sign the player, with Inter Milan also competing for him.
Sport still pointed out that it’s not guaranteed that Kessie will be leaving Barcelona so soon. That’s because he’s been getting starts there, and with Xavi ‘very satisfied’ with his performances, there are no big reasons for the La Liga side to get rid of him at this stage.
Aston Villa had mostly been linked to Kessie last year, when he was having a slow start at Barcelona and struggling a little to get minutes. Now it seems the task to sign him would be a little harder, especially with the competition there is for him.
