Four days ago, we covered claims from France which stated Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing Aston Villa star Jhon Durán and have made direct contact with him.

On Monday, Foot Mercato reported the Ligue 1 winners have accelerated their efforts to try and sign the striker and have sent an offer to his entourage.

Tuesday’s edition of AS provides Aston Villa’s stance on the 21-year-old’s potential exit in the winter market.

The Colombia international has scored 12 goals from 26 games for the Villans this season and attracts interest from PSG and Barcelona.

He signed a new contract until 2030 in October, after the Premier League side rejected several offers last summer.

The report states Aston Villa gave a ‘resounding response’ to the Paris club that Duran would cost ‘€100m or nothing’ and seem to be optimistic none of his suitors will match that in January.

Barcelona have also shown interest in the South American, but Unai Emery’s side have no plans to sell him in this window. In this way, the Villans ‘close the door’ on his exit in January.

Aston Villa want to improve their attack and are now close to agreeing a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen.

This is the Spanish view on the situation, there’s likely to be another French one later and the latter will be guided by what Duran’s entourage are telling PSG.
