Brighton and Hove Albion face competition from Aston Villa and Brentford for the signing of Hellas Verona defender Diego Coppola.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford are all keen on the 21-year-old centre-back.

They report that Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford have all asked Verona for information on the defender, who is also being followed by AC Milan and Juventus.

He’s currently valued at around €10m, but his performances in recent months have seen that price rise. He’s also been called up by the Italian national team, something that has also seen Verona add millions to his asking price.

The belief in Italy is that offers from €10m to €15m could arrive in the coming weeks, particularly with the Premier League trio now asking for information.

Coppola is almost certain to participate in the Under-21 European Championship this summer, after potentially being involved in World Cup qualifying with Italy in the next international break.

Whether the interested parties want to get him before or after that isn’t clear, but he now has a trio of Premier League suitors all asking about his situation.
