Aston Villa are ‘one of the most insistent’ clubs in the race for Mallorca forward Kang-in Lee, with the race heating up for his signature.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say Aston Villa could compete with Atletico Madrid for the 22-year-old in the summer.
The newspaper explains that Kang-in Lee is set to leave Mallorca this summer unless there is an unexpected turn of events.
He’s been one of the sensations of the season after scoring five goals and registering five assists in 30 league games so far, and that is not going unnoticed by other clubs.
Aston Villa are one of those who are reportedly keen, with a recent report stating that they are ‘willing to pay’ for the forward as Unai Emery plans additions to his squad in the summer.
Estadio back that up, stating that the Villans are one of the ‘most insistent’ clubs in the race for him and even ‘the best placed’ to sign him at the end of the season.
They’re facing competition from Atletico, who don’t want to be beaten to the signing after trying unsuccessfully to sign him in the January transfer window.
That means Unai Emery and co have some work to do to get their man, although as far as Estadio are concerned, they’re currently at the front of the queue.
