Christian Eriksen definitely had a great impact in Manchester United’s win over Copenhagen in the Champions League last night.

The midfielder clearly improved the team once being brought on at half-time, and provided an assist for Harry Maguire’s winner.

This isn’t the first time Eriksen has been praised for his impact as a substitute, and interviewed by TNT Sports, he talked a little about that.

Journalist Fred Caldeira asked why the midfielder isn’t starting for Manchester United, and the Dane had a blunt response to that question.

“Ask the manager why I’m starting on the bench, that’s out of my hands,” Eriksen told TNT Sports.

“But obviously I want to play as much as possible. Obviously the manager is looking the other way, but at the moment if you win like this, it’s worth it.”

This isn’t the first time Eriksen has talked like that about Erik ten Hag’s choices. Back at the start of the month, he was asked a similar question by the Danish media, and had the same answer, claiming they should speak to the coach about that.

The midfielder has 11 appearances for Manchester United this season, and has indeed been more used in the second half, many times brought on at half-time.

The Red Devils now prepare to face Manchester City next weekend, and getting a place in the team on this occasion would certainly be a big achievement for Eriksen.
