Arsenal are interested in signing RC Lens star Loïs Openda in the next window, according to InterLive.it.

The striker has been in fine form in Ligue 1 this season, managing 17 goals and three assists from 32 games.

It’s no surprise his performances have caught the attention of other clubs, including Arsenal and Inter Milan.

The report mainly focuses on the Serie A side showing desire to sign the 23-year-old after this season. Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has considered bolstering his side’s attack by adding the Belgium international to their squad.

Openda is on the agenda of several Premier League clubs. Due to this, the Nerazzurri ‘can do nothing but retreat in fear’ from the transfer race. For now, the report states Arsenal and Aston Villa have ‘shown interest’ in the frontman.

There’s another reason why Inter could be forced to end their chase. Openda has a deal until 2027 and Lens value him around €30m. Inter can’t even think of approaching this figure because their idea is to invest €40m on four players in the summer.

Openda is ‘eager to play’ for a top club and compete in the Champions League. This can be achieved with the Gunners, if he were to arrive at the Emirates.

Arsenal have been told the fee they need to sign the player. Time will tell if they will convert their interest into an offer in the summer.
