Despite two Saudi Arabian clubs fighting over him, Nicolas Pépé will not be moving to the Middle-East, but it rather on his way to Turkey from Arsenal.
The Gunners flop, who has been stuck in a transfer limbo all summer, is now on the verge of leaving the Emirates, which has been his goal all summer.
This is according to L’Equipe, who report that the Ivory Coast international is very close to leaving Arsenal for Besiktas.
He says that despite Pépé initially ‘refusing’ a move to the Süper Lig, he has ‘ended up accepting’ an offer from the Turkish club.
He is currently ‘undergoing his medical’ in Paris ahead of the move, meaning that the deal is clearly very close to being done.
This will come as a relief to Arsenal, who have been trying to get the forward off their books all summer to no avail, and even a fight between two Saudi clubs achieved very little.
Now, it appears to be well on its way, and we just need to see this go through for it to be believed.
