Turkish football commentator Fatih Doğan believes Arsenal should do all they can to sign Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with the left back in recent weeks and the player has caught the eye of a host of clubs following his performances at Euro 2024.
Ajansspor have reported on comments made by Doğan during his post match evaluation of Turkey’s victory over Austria last night. Kadıoğlu was one of the standout players and played his part in his country reaching the quarter finals.
Doğan said the Fenerbahce player has been the best left back at this summer’s Euros and believes Arsenal should come in with an offer that the Turkish side couldn’t refuse.
“The Arsenal team, which came to follow Ferdi, the best left-back of the tournament, yesterday, should give a report of: Let’s give €50m and buy him immediately,” said Doğan.
Only yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Arsenal scouts were in attendance to watch last night’s game in Leipzig. Fellow Premier League sided Fulham, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers also sent officials.
There have been reports of offers from the likes of Borussia Dortmund, but it seems the interested clubs will have to break the Super Lig transfer record after claims the Istanbul club will not sell below €35m.
Kadıoğlu made 41 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, scoring 3 goals. He’s contracted to the Istanbul club until June 2026.
