Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been included in the list of clubs monitoring Ansu Fati’s situation at Barcelona.
The forward has six goals and three assists from 31 appearances in all competitions this season. This includes only nine starts and he has completed the full 90 minutes on two occasions.
Fati broke into the La Liga side’s first team in 2019 and his continuity was hampered by serious injuries. He has gone from the great jewel to being a regular substitute now.
Despite the secondary role under Xavi Hernández, he continues to arouse interest from great clubs across Europe, including Arsenal and Tottenham, according to La Vanguardia.
The newspaper specifies this is their own information and explain both the Gunners and Spurs ‘have been interested’ in the Spain international.
Arsenal and Tottenham have not made a firm offer but are considering betting on the 20-year-old who was deemed non-transferable by Barca not so long ago. The latter’s delicate economic conditions, however, aren’t reassuring the forward.
Fati’s environment ‘leaves the door open’ for him to leave the Camp Nou in the summer. They ensure anything can happen if the player continues to be a substitute, even though his will is to continue at the club.
La Vanguardia state; ‘…his current sporting situation and the rumours about his future are affecting him emotionally, more and more subdued. In search for his best performance, Ansu Fati is weighing on the mental aspect, logical for someone so young who has had so many problems with injuries.’
These reports around Fati’s future are likely to continue in the coming weeks and months, especially if he doesn’t start featuring regularly for Barcelona.
