Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among those the picture for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the two north London clubs ‘do not lose track’ of the 20-year-old who has become a ‘one of the great sensations’ of the Bundesliga.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham are mentioned in the report that focuses on Barcelona interest in the attacking midfielder.
He has starred for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring five goals and registering nine assists from 14 games.
The Germany international has been on the Catalan club’s agenda for several years and the newspaper states Bayer Leverkusen are aware of this.
Apart from Barcelona, the Gunners, Spurs, Manchester City and Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also in the mix to secure the star’s services. The report adds Xabi Alonso’s side are ‘unfazed’ with the interest shown by Barca and others.
His deal expires in 2027 and the ‘problem is his high price’. Mundo don’t make it clear if the price is a ‘problem’ only for Barca or other clubs too.
It’s claimed the German club value Wirtz between €80m and €100m, and this makes his signing unaffordable for Xavi Hernández’s side.
Mundo make no mention if Arsenal or Tottenham are ready to meet Bayer Leverkusen’s demands to sign Wirtz.
