Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are among the clubs in the battle to sign Lille’s Jonathan David, according to Le10 Sport.
The Canada international has starred this season, managing 23 goals and 10 assists from 40 games. He is set to leave the Ligue 1 club when his contract expires in June.
David’s performances and contract situation makes him an attractive option for several clubs in the summer window.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United are keen on the 25-year-old and are in talks with his agent.
Despite interest from other clubs, Le10 state Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United are the only teams that are ‘currently in active and concrete negotiations’ to sign him.
It’s not clear who among the north London rivals and the Red Devils are ahead in the transfer race. Borussia Dortmund are trying to take the lead and are finding it difficult because of the Premier League clubs.
The frontman hasn’t yet made the final decision but his ‘heart is clearly leaning’ towards a move to England.
Three days ago, Sport stated David has offered himself to Barcelona, who aren’t keen on signing him. They also reported West Ham United have made an offer, but Le10 make no mention of the Hammers in their report.
