Arsenal striker Lucas Perez is back at Deportivo La Coruña as part of his recovery from injury.
The player had to be taken off during Arsenal’s game against Reading in the EFL Cup last month, after a tough challenge from the Dutch defender Danzell Gravenberch.
Now according to Marca, the Spanish player is taking the international break to make his recovery at his old club. His goal would be to return ready to fight for a place in the Arsenal team.
Gravenberch’s challenge was much criticised by the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger at the time.
Speaking to the Spanish media, Lucas Perez has added his own opinion too: “The injury is a shame, but we have to fight. I didn’t understand where the player was going with the tackle, but these are just occupational hazards.”
Perez has already missed three games since the injury and is expected to return by mid December.
Signed for £17m this summer, the striker has two goals and three assists for the Gunners this season. But he’s still to score in the Premier League.
