Arsenal have Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrøm ‘on their list’ of targets for the summer, with a deal worth over €30m expected.
That’s according to SportBILD, who cover the situation at the German club today as they gear up for a raft of big departures at the end of the season.
The newspaper explains that Frankfurt are expecting an XXL makeover in the summer transfer window, with a ‘substantial increase in transfers’ anticipated as clubs eye up some of their star players.
Sports director Markus Krösche is expected to generate a €20m surplus and Lindstrøm is one of the players who could bring in a big transfer fee.
He is on the list at Arsenal, as well as Liverpool and Napoli, and there is a belief he could ‘fetch over €30m’ in any potential transfer.
Arsenal’s interest in the 23-year-old is a longstanding one, with them first linked back in the January transfer window this year.
A move never happened at that point but several reports since then have made it clear that they remain interested, with it stated in March that they are pushing for a deal and then another report at the beginning of this month stating contact had been made.
SportBILD now add to the growing sense that a transfer is on the cards by insisting he is the Gunners lists of targets for the summer.
The motive is there to push for a deal too, with Eintracht Frankfurt more than happy to sell for the right price as they look to build up a financial cushion by selling off their current prized assets.
