Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira moved to Portuguese side FC Porto on a loan deal in the summer transfer window, having not made too much of an impact during his time at the Emirates.

He scored three times in 49 games in all competitions for Arsenal, having arrived for £34m from the Portuguese club.

Porto have now, for the sake of transparency, launched a platform where they can answer financial questions from fans. Subsequently, they’ve revealed information about their deal for Vieira’s loan.

As relayed by Renascenca, the club have stated that they may pay as much as €1.6m for the midfielder’s loan, if certain conditions are met.

The initial fee is €890k, with a potential further €710k in bonus payments, and Vieira’s representatives Gestifute earned about €290k from the move.

It seems like a lucrative enough package for Arsenal, who are likely to take the player back next summer. Porto wouldn’t be able to afford a permanent transfer unless the Gunners handed out a huge discount.

Even this loan looks expensive for them.
