Arsenal have been looking for a midfielder at the end of the window as the Gunners work to strengthen themselves for the rest of the Premier League season.
Standing proud at the top of the league, Mikel Arteta’s side have a great chance to win the trophy and have been looking for an addition who can help them.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the league, Everton are searching for players to help them avoid relegation. They’ve appointed Sean Dyche and now have 24 hours to improve the manager’s squad ahead of a difficult few months.
Florian Plettenberg, a Sky journalist, now reports that the two club’s transfer intentions have become entangled.
He states Arsenal are ‘close’ to signing Jorginho from Chelsea, being given a helping hand by a player refusing to join Everton.
Plettenberg says he’s been told the Brazilian midfielder is ‘close’ to joining the Gunners because Conor Gallagher has refused a move to Everton in the final day or so of the transfer window.
Chelsea have therefore decided to sell another midfielder.
