Three days ago, Radio Marca Valladolid reported Newcastle United’s interest in Iván Fresneda. The Magpies have been joined by Arsenal and Juventus in the chase for the Real Valladolid player in the winter market.
In need of a successor for Juan Cuadrado, the Serie A side have their eyes set on the 18-year-old. They will have to battle with the Gunners and Newcastle United for his signature.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who state the ‘strongest and the most concrete’ interest in the Spain U19 international has come from the two Premier League clubs.
It’s further claimed both Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s side have ‘taken the first steps’ to sign the defender in January. The La Liga side are ‘ready to sell’ Fresneda next month if they receive an offer between €15m and €20m.
It’s made clear Real Valladolid will only consider an outright sale in the winter market and this makes it complicated for the Old Lady, who are looking for a loan deal.
Although Arsenal and Newcastle show ‘concrete’ interest in Fresneda, Calciomercato.it don’t specify who among the two are ahead in the race to sign the player.
