Arsenal, Liverpool and Celtic icons Dennis Bergkamp, Dirk Kuyt and Henrik Larsson are teaming up with agent Rob Jansen and Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman to buy an English club.
That’s according to Jansen, who has revealed plans are already underway for the former Arsenal, Liverpool and Celtic players to take a side in the second or third division in England.
Jansen has today appeared on the KieftJansenEgmondGijp podcast to discuss his big plans alongside the aforementioned quartet moving forwards.
The agent currently works as a representative for the Wasserman group, who look after the likes of Federico Valverde, Nathan Ake and John Stones, among others.
It seems, though, he wants to increase his influence on the game even further and has now set up something of a consortium involving icons from Arsenal, Liverpool and Celtic to look at buying a football club in England.
He fails to mention the name of this club, as he is not allowed to do so, but has revealed that the group are looking at teams in League One and League Two to start their ownership journey.
“We are in the process of buying a club in England. I’m not allowed to say which club yet. I can say which group we will do it with. Ronald Koeman, Dennis Bergkamp, Henrik Larsson and Dirk Kuyt,” he said.
“We are now looking at League Two or League One. We do this with some people around us and we also have the financiers. It doesn’t have to be in London.
“The plan is to manage the football club in the broadest sense of the word. So, the way we think it should be. Trainings, hospitality, merchandising, marketing, everything. We have a group, and maybe one or two more will join.
“The names I mention will also do a certain job within the club. Henrik Larsson would like to become a head coach. Bergkamp will set up the academy. And Koeman also comes over to do his things.”
