There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Arsenal are set to make a move for Galatasaray attacker Barış Alper Yılmaz.
The Gunners have been linked with the winger in recent weeks following his performances at Euro 2024.
Sok Gazetesi report Arsenal have accelerated transfer talks to sign Yılmaz this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options. It’s claimed Arsenal are lining up a €20m offer to sign the Turkey international but should be expected to face competition from other Premier League clubs.
Initial reports in the Turkish press said Galatasaray were holding out for offers in the region of €30m for Yılmaz, which at the time seemed ambitious. Sok Gazetesi reports the Turkish champions will now accept bids in the €20m region.
We still feel the interest is being overstated by the Turkish media, but €20m is much more realistic.
Yılmaz started 28 Super Lig games last season, scoring seven goals. Yılmaz is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2027.
