Back on Friday, it was Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola who broke the news regarding Arsenal’s interest in signing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.

On YouTube, he said Arsenal’s Edu Gaspar had been in touch with agent Paulo Pitombeira, and everything was agreed between club and player.

Many updates on Gabriel Jesus’ future came up since then, including some claims saying Barcelona were in talks for his signing as well.

So as Jorge Nicola features a new video today, he says that there are no negotiations between the Catalan side and the striker right now.

The journalist explains that the ‘most interested’ side and ‘closest to closing’ the signing of Gabriel Jesus is still Arsenal, and that’s ‘at Edu Gaspar’s request’. The director is said to be the one who’s handling all talks for this transfer.

Nicola adds that the Gunners will be forced to spend a reasonable amount on this signing, as the striker still has one year left in his contract, and Manchester City should demand at least €30m to let him go.
