Arsenal showed interest in Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode before he signed a new deal in October.
That hasn’t stopped the Gunners from keeping tabs on the right-back as Calciomercato stated in February that they have sent officials several times to watch him.
Kayode’s agent had earlier told Fiorentina to ‘not worry’ after Arsenal showed interest in his client, while the latter continue to be keen. Two months ago, Fioreontina.it said Mikel Arteta’s side are crazy about the 19-year-old.
Monday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport states the Premier League side are considering a deal for the Italy U21 international.
He’s scored a goal and registered four assists from 35 games since making his first team debut in October. The newspaper says the defender has been a ‘revelation’ this season and won’t have a lot to prove in his side’s upcoming league fixtures.
Kayode hasn’t featured since the end of April and will have an opportunity to return to the pitch when Fiorentina face Monza later today.
Corriere state officials from Arsenal and Inter Milan have been following him some time and could take a look at the player again against Monza.
Despite the admission about the Gunners from Kayode’s agent, it looks like they aren’t going to give up on the youngster and will continue to monitor him.
