Arsenal are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Benfica midfielder Florentino Luís.
Following the 23-year-old’s good season with Benfica, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo today shares a story about the attention he’s been drawing from other European clubs.
The outlet claims that Florentino is currently ‘on the list’ of AC Milan, Arsenal and Napoli, with these clubs having all gathered information about the player.
Especially regarding the Gunners, O Jogo writes that despite the focus on the Premier League title race, Mikel Arteta’s side have been looking for a midfielder since January.
For now, there’s no information on whether any of those clubs have an advantage in the race, or are willing to place the highest bid for the signing.
O Jogo just makes it clear that it won’t be easy for Arsenal and others to sign Florentino from Benfica, as after giving him a contract until 2027 and protecting him with a €120m release clause, the Eagles are set to make big requests for his sale.
Florentino had spent the previous years on loan at Monaco and Getafe, but had a great return to the Portuguese side, playing 52 of their 53 games this season, and only missing one because of suspension.
