It seems Arsenal might go for the signing of two players from the same club this summer.
As Portuguese newspaper O Jogo today writes about Sporting’s potential departures, the Gunners are named in the race for a couple of their stars.
One of them is defender Ousmane Diomande, with the outlet pointing out that Arsenal had been interested in him even before he joined Sporting in January 2023.
It’s said the Gunners have been ‘pleased with the evolution’ the centre-back has been showing at the Lisbon side, although he’s not the only Lions’ player they’ve been scouting.
The other one is Viktor Gyokeres, with the stories about Arsenal’s interest in him getting big coverage from the European media this week.
The outlet now writes that the Gunners have been doing scouting ‘missions’ to watch the striker, who has 36 goals and 14 assists so far.
The problem is that both players are drawing interest from several European sides, so Arsenal will need some financial strength to win both battles. Diomande is protected by a €80m release clause, while Gyokeres’ is worth €100m, and Sporting will use those numbers to open talks.
